Tributes to Gwyneth Dunwoody

Crewe and Nantwich Labour MP Gwyneth Dunwoody, the longest-serving female MP in Parliament, has died at the age of 77. Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg said Mrs Dunwoody was "a fiercely principled and incredibly effective Parliamentarian" who would be "missed on all sides of the House".

Local Liberal Democrats have joined in paying tribute to veteran MP Gwyneth Dunwoody, who died on Thursday.

Crewe and Nantwich's Labour MP, Gwyneth Dunwoody, has died following a major heart operation. Ms Dunwoody was 77, the longest-serving female MP in Parliament. Her son David said that she died "in a gentle and calm way" on Thursday evening after being ill for about a week.
